ST HELIERS BOWLING CLUB - VENUE HIRE

St Heliers Bowling provides an outstanding location for those who are interested in using the game of lawn bowls for team building, social clubs, birthdays, competititve events,  Corporate bowling and/or petanque events, Corporate meetings, or special events, such as Christmas functions. Our club is situated on Vellenoweth Green reserve overlooking Rangitoto Island and adjacent to the St Heliers beach.

Why Lawn Bowls? 

Lawn bowls is one of the only sports that is truly inclusive, easy to play and is great fun which makes the sport ideal for social activities, team building, Christmas parties and any other event.  We provide club bowls and experienced "club helpers" to ensure your event is a huge success.  

Facilities

The club offers excellent facilities within easy reach of the city which include-.

• An all-weather, world class carpet green (newly installed in 2021) which is available all year round and an all weather Petanque court.
• The ground floor Churchill lounge & bar can comfortably seat 80 people. It is located alongside the Bowling Green and includes a well stocked bar, which includes borth alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages).  Regretfully, our liquor licence does not allow BYO.
• The large first floor meeting lounge that can accommodate seating for up to 100 people.
• There is a kitchen adjacent to the first floor meeting area. Groups can bring their own food or make arrangements using external caterers. In addition, barbecue facilities are available on request, the cost of which is included in the green and facility hire fees.

Target Groups

For bowling events the club generally caters for groups between 20 to 100 people but sometimes can accommodate smaller groups. Petanque would suit groups (up to 50) and those looking for an afternoon’s entertainment.

If you require a venue for staff/client/Christmas functions or other corporate or community events then St Heliers Bowling club is an ideal setting.
